Spaceship Scramble

A game where you scramble to manage your randomized spaceship as attacking ships try to chase you down.

Controls:

WASD to move and mouse to look

Left-click to interact and drag. Aiming at interactable objects will turn your reticle blue. If you have a fire extinguisher in your hand, holding down left-click will use it.

Tab to view a map of your ship

Escape to pause and change mouse sensitivity

Hold down shift to sprint

Right-click will exit out of the creation table screen as well as make you stop holding a fire extinguisher

How to play:

When you start the game, you will be standing next to the creation table, which generates your ship and serves as your navigation device. Interact with the table, and once you place the three starting systems into your creation table, press the build button to create your randomly generated ship. When you want to navigate to the next station, interact with the table and pick where you want to go: either an encounter with an enemy (designated as easy, hard, and hardest) or a shop where you can buy and upgrade systems as well as repair your ship. 

About encounters: 

Enemies usually attack you with lasers, which don't do too much damage, but sometimes cause fires if you don't have a shield system activated. Over time, fires will spread and cause extra damage to your ship. Once you start fighting hard enemies, they will start to attack with missiles, which go through shields, do more damage, and always cause fires.

About systems and shops:

Systems determine what your ship can do. You don't start with very many, but throughout your journey, you can find shops to buy more or upgrade your existing ones. Not all systems are upgradable, but the ones that are usually provide a big advantage. Once in a shop, you can upgrade a system by dragging it from the creation table to the large empty slot on the shop side of the screen. The shop will then display what the upgrade will do and how expensive it is, if you want to purchase it then press the upgrade button. The only system that can be upgraded more than once is the missile system, which can be upgraded twice to be automatic instead of manual. Remember: the more systems you have, the bigger your ship might be after it is generated, meaning it might take longer to get from one system to the other. Also, every time you visit a shop, you will have to regenerate your ship to progress.
